"ATF Inland Leaf Border, 18 pt" $25.00 DGINLEAF-18 Four line font contains 96 pieces. Theo Rehak believes this border piece originated with the Inland Type Foundry, and when Inland was absorbed into American Type Founders, the mat became part of the ATF collection. No further identification on this very nice leaf motif has surfaced yet. |

"ATF Primrose Border, 12 pt" $20.00 DG1209-12 Four line font contains 72 body pieces, 36 corner pieces, and 36 terminal pieces. Further discussion with Theo Rehak of the Dale Guild opened up some additional information on this border. It is cast from electrotype mats, grown from a master cut in type metal that Theo feels date to right after the Civil War--late 1860s. The design has been attributed to Ihlenberg, the prolific Victorian era type designer. |
